The Invisalign® Difference

4 million Invisalign wearers have had their smiles transformed with the Invisalign smile system. With Invisalign® you wear virtually invisible thermoplastic aligners to straighten your smile and align your bite discreetly.

If you utilize the Invisalign system, our dentist will customize a treatment plan for you with your very own aligner trays. You will wear each tray for a few weeks, using calculated pressure to gently guide your teeth to their ideal alignment. Not only are Invisalign® aligners convenient to wear and remove, you can eat and drink and clean your teeth, unlike wearing traditional braces. You can look forward to excellent oral hygiene even while straightening your smile. Wearing traditional braces often don’t accomplish this. To recap:

–Discretion: with our clear aligner system, no one has to know you are straightening your smile.

–Oral Hygiene: with our removable aligners, you can eat and drink what you want, and when it’s time to clean your teeth, you can brush and floss naturally.

–Comfort: our custom aligners are comfortable to wear and won’t irritate your mouth with wires or brackets.

–Visible Goal: with our virtual treatment plan, you can see right from the beginning how your teeth will look after the straightening process is complete.

Invisalign® Braces Can Covertly Align Your Smile

Many of our patients want the beautiful, straight teeth that braces can bring them, but don’t want the distracting appearance of metal braces. For these patients, we may indeed have the perfect solution.

Invisalign® invisible aligners are orthodontic straighteners that are virtually unnoticeable. They are thermoformed plastic trays that slowly bring your teeth into alignment while never drawing attention to themselves.

The aligners gently straighten your teeth using the precise application of pressure. Each tray is used for a few weeks and has a specific purpose in aligning your teeth. Dr. Amandeep S Gill maps out each step in the process beforehand so each tooth is moved at the appropriate time.

Another feature that adds to their great convenience is that they can be removed. No traditional metal brace is able to do that, and it makes many parts of life much more convenient. Eating and brushing teeth can take place normally as if you didn’t even have braces.

If you are dissatisfied with a crooked smile and would like to learn more about Invisalign® or any of our other dental services, please call Gill Family Dentistry in Modesto, California, today. Our dentist, Dr. Amandeep S Gill, would be happy to assist you.

Is Invisalign® What You Have Been Waiting For?

These days, braces are not your only option to straighten front and side teeth or correct a misaligned bite. The Invisalign® treatment has fast become a viable option in what has long been traditional braces. It is always nice to have choices, and depending on your needs, you may be a good candidate for Invisalign.

Both systems have their benefits, and following are just a few things to consider when deciding what is right for you:

Like braces, Invisalign straightens your teeth gradually. But traditional braces are non-removable, and are glued to your teeth with metal wires and metal or ceramic brackets while Invisalign aligners are removable. These custom made aligner trays are designed to slip over your natural teeth by your dentist. Aligners consist of comfortable plastic material which you wear over your teeth. Every two weeks you switch to a new tray which gradually shifts your teeth into place according to the plan your dentist designed for you.

Aligners offer little discomfort as they do their work. When you first switch to a new tray there may be some pressure which subsides as your teeth adjust.

When you first begin wearing new aligners your speech may be affected for the first couple of days as your tongue adjusts to having them in your mouth.

Your eating habits don’t need to be changed, as aligners are removed while eating. This means you can eat your normal diet and not worry about damaging your aligners. Your brushing and flossing habits also stay the same, since you would just continue taking care of your teeth and gums as your normally would.

If you smoke or drink, please be aware that smoking may discolor the clear aligners. However, drinking alcohol isn’t a problem if you take extra care to clean your teeth soon after so that sugar does not get trapped between your teeth and the aligners (or any sugary beverage).

Clean your aligners carefully every time you take them out. There are cleaning systems made for cleaning Invisalign aligners, and you can also clean and sanitize them with water, denture cleaner, or soak them in vinegar. You will want to make sure to keep them clean and dry to kill bacteria.
