Break off an 18” piece of single-filament floss and wind it around one finger on each hand. Use a gentle sawing motion to slip the floss between your two front teeth, down to the gum line. Continue moving the floss back-and-forth as you carefully remove plaque and debris from between your teeth. Repeat around every tooth–including behind your back molars!
As you see, flossing is very easy! However, many people have a hard time getting into the habit. Sometimes it is uncomfortable to your gums, or you have a hard time physically getting the floss around every tooth. If you have problems flossing your teeth, don’t fret. There are interdental cleaning alternatives, such as water flossers, pre-strung flossers, floss for sensitive teeth, and dental picks created specifically for this purpose.
